South Street Bridge Reconstruction

The City of Philadelphia closed the South Street Bridge for reconstruction at 9:30am on Monday, December 8, 2008. The demolition and rebuilding of the bridge requires the complete closure of the structure between Convention Avenue and 27th Street, including the on-and-off-ramps connecting South Street and I-76.The entire project is expected to take up to 24 months to complete. There will be no access to the entrance and exit ramps of the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) for the duration of the project.

Facilities & Real Estate Services will attempt to provide continuing information concerning the status and effect of this construction project on the flow of traffic to, from and around the Penn campus, as it becomes available.
