Penn Medicine's Pavilion will provide a new clinical facility adding approximately 700 new beds and 50 operating and procedure rooms, a relocated and expanded Emergency Department, and expand other health care delivery programs.  The PennFIRST design and construction management team includes Foster + Partners, HDR, L.F. Driscoll and Balfour Beatty.

Planning Strategy:
The Penn Medicine Pavilion will provide a new clinical facility adding 500 new beds, 50 operating suites, a relocated emergency department, and patient and staff amenity spaces. Featuring improved pedestrian pathways, a tunnel to HUP and a bridge connecting to Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, The Pavilion will enhance patient, staff, and service connectivity, and will also include a 700 space patient parking facility. Site excavation and foundation work commenced in the fall of 2016, and the new hospital is slated for occupancy in 2021. A section of the new facility was completed in Spring 2020, in preparation for possible emergency use.
